Sunderland have completed the loan signing of DeAndre Yedlin, it has been confirmed.
The 22-year-old will spend the season at The Stadium of Light, after completing a deal late on Tuesday’s deadline day.
He was signed from Seattle Sounders in 2014, but was loaned straight back to the MLS side after failing to obtain a work permit to play in England.
That was obtained at the end of the season, and the USA international made his first-team debut in a 1-0 loss to Aston Villa in April.
He is yet to appear in any of Mauricio Pochettino’s squads this season though, despite cameos in pre-season.
Despite his young age, Yedlin has already been capped 23 times for his country’s national team, and appeared five times at this summer’s Gold Cup.
The Black Cats are struggling in the Premier League so far this season, sitting bottom of the table after failing to win any of their opening four games.
