Tottenham Hotspur youngster Ismail Azzaoui has joined German club Wolfsburg for an undisclosed fee.
The 17-year-old joins the Bundesliga side less than 24 hours after the sale of compatriot Kevin De Bruyne to Spurs’ Premier League rivals Manchester City.
An attacking-midfielder – Azzaoui has represented his country up to U17 level but has never played in the White Hart Lane first team.
Recently, he has became a part of Ugo Ehiogu’s U21 team, and he won the Player of the Tournament award at last month’s French International U21 tournament, despite Spurs winning just one of four games.
Wolfsburg’s director of sport Klaus Allofs has said, “We’ve been following Azzaoui’s progress for a long time now.”
“We will get a more precise and complete picture of his current level over the next few weeks and will then decide which of our teams (first team or reserves) he will be playing in.
