Tottenham Hotspur have completed the signing of Bayer Leverkusen’s Heung-Ming Son, the German club have confirmed.
The South Korea international has signed a five-year contract at White Hart Lane, whilst it is believed a fee in the region of £18m has exchanged hands.
Spurs boss Mauricio Pochettino has publilcly admitted his desperation for attacking reinforcements after a poor start to the season, and the Argentinian will be delighted with the addition of Son, who can play either out wide or as a second striker.
The club have had a miserable time in their pursuit of West Brom striker Saido Berahino, and Spurs fans will hope that this latest arrival will prove to be a turning point in this early season for the side.
Since switching from fellow Germans Hamburg in 2013, the 23-year-old has netted 29 times in 87 appearances.
Son is also an established member of the South Korea national team, having racked up 44 caps in which he has scored eleven goals.
He will not make his debut this weekend having been signed after Thursday’s registration deadline, but is likely to feature in Spurs’ next game against Sunderland in two weeks time.
