Tottenham Hotspur have made an offer for Bayer Leverkusen’s Heung-Ming Son.
Mauricio Pochettino is reported to have bid £18m for the attacker, but that could rise to as much as £21.3m with Spurs’ boss desperate for attacking reinforcements as his pursuit for West Brom attacker Saido Berahino continues to fail.
Local German newspaper Kolner Stadtanzeiger even claimed on Wednesday afternoon that the player is already in England ahead of a medical, but Sky Deutschland later refuted such reports, saying that he is still with his side ahead of their Champions League tie with Lazio tonight.
A South Korea international – Son has been on Tottenham’s wishlist for some time and has also been on the shopping list of Premier League rivals Liverpool and Everton.
He can play on either wing or as a second striker and has scored 29 goals in 87 appearances at BayArena since arriving from Bundesliga rivals Hamburg in 2013.
