Tottenham’s Capital One Cup tie against Arsenal will take place on Wednesday September 23, it has been confirmed.
The two sides will meet at White Hart Lane in the Third Round of this year’s competition, with the game scheduled for a 7:45pm kick-off.
Unsurprisingly, Sky Sports have also selected the game to be screened live on TV, whilst the Aston Villa – Birmingham City tie will be shown on the same channel 24 hours earlier.
Five years ago, Spurs hosted Arsene Wenger’s side at the exact same stage of the competition, with The Gunners running out 4-1 winners after extra time.
Goals from Henri Lansbury and Robbie Keane could not seperate the two teams after ninety minutes, but two penalties from Samir Nasri and an Andrei Arshavin effort earnt the visitors a passage through to the Fourth Round.
At this stage of the competiton last year, Mauricio Pochettino’s Spurs triumphed 3-1 over Nottingham Forest thanks to strikes from Ryan Mason, Roberto Soldado and Harry Kane.
