Inter Milan have agreed a deal in principle to take Erik Lamela on loan, according to Gianluca Di Marzio.
The Sky Italia journalist reports that a £4.5m loan fee has been agreed, with an option to make the deal permanent for a further £10m.
Lamela is not the Serie A side’s first-choice target though, and it is thought they will only press on with a move for the Argentinian if efforts to land Wolfsburg’s Ivan Perisic come to nothing.
The former Roma man is still held in high regard in Italy – where he scored 21 goals in two seasons at Stadio Olimpico – despite flopping during his time at White Hart Lane.
Since arriving for £30m two years ago, he has scored just twice in 41 Premier League appearances – many of which came from the bench.
He made his first start of the season last weekend against Leicester City, but was withdrawn after an uninspiring 65 minutes.
