West Brom have rejected a written transfer request from Saido Berahino.
The striker was subject of an £18m bid from Tottenham last week, and has now officially requested a move away from The Hawthorns, according to Sky Sports.
He was left out of Tony Pulis’ team for the defeat to Chelsea on Sunday with the Baggies manager stating that the 22-year-old was not in the right state of mind to participate, and it now seems that he may have played his last game for the Midlands club.
Spurs are in desperate need for a striker having sold Roberto Soldado to Villarreal, whilst Emmanuel Adebayor looks set to be next out the door, and Mauricio Pochettino sees Berahino as the ideal candidate to play alongside Harry Kane.
The Burundi-born attacker scored twenty goals in all competitions last year but is yet to score this season.
West Brom are currently bottom of the Premier League with just one point from their opening two games.
