Tottenham defender Federico Fazio is currently undergoing a medical at West Brom.
The two clubs agreed a fee of £5m earlier in the week, and the centre-back is undergoing tests in the Midlands ahead of a move on Friday, Sky Sports are reporting.
Fazio joined from Sevilla just twelve months ago, but it seems his stay in North London will be a brief one after losing his place in the team to summer signing Toby Alderweireld.
A deal is unlikely to be completed in time for the Argentinian to play in Sunday’s match against Chelsea, but Baggies boss Tony Pulis will be buoyed by the arrival after shipping three goals in his side’s opening two league games.
Likewise, the Spurs hierachy will be pleased to have completed a deal with the Midlands club and hope it strengthens their chances of bringing Saido Berahino in the opposite direction.
A bid of £17m for the striker was rejected this week, but Mauricio Pochettino is likely to return with an improved offer despite West Brom’s insistence that the player is not for sale.
