Juventus planning Lamela approach

Serie A champions Juventus are considering a move for Erik Lamela.

The Italians are desperate for a ‘number ten’ to replace Arturo Vidal and after failed attempts to sign a number of players, they are now taking a look at Spurs’ misfit according to The Mirror.

Despite failing to impress since arriving at White Hart Lane, the Argentinian is still held in high regard in Italy where he scored 15 goals for Roma in the 12/13 season.

Spurs boss Mauricio Pochettino will want to recoup most of the £30m that he paid for the 23-year-old two seasons ago if the Turin club are to make a move, however, and it remains to be see whether they are willing to part with that amount of cash.

Their efforts to bring German duo Mario Gotze and Juian Draxler to The Old Lady have came to no avail whilst Real Madrid have also rebuffed efforts to sign Isco.

They were also rumored to be after Lamela’s teammate Christian Eriksen, but reports of their interest came to nothing.

Juventus kick-off their league campaign at home to Udinese on Sunday.
