West Brom have made a £5m bid for Tottenham defender Federico Fazio.
The centre-back has lost his place in the team at White Hart Lane after the arrival of Toby Alderweireld and Tony Pulis has lodged an offer to bring him to the West Midlands.
Fazio is said to be open to the move, but compatriot Mauricio Pochettino will want to recoup the £8m that he payed Sevilla twelve months ago.
However, the difference in price shouldn’t delay any potential deal too much with Pulis keen to seal a deal to replace out-of-favour defender Joleon Lescott, and Spurs hope that concluding a deal will strengthen their chances of landing Saido Berahino
Fazio would be the third central defender to leave the club this summer after Younes Kaboul and Vlad Chiriches, but Pochettino has brought in reinforcements of his own.
Alderweireld joined from Atletico Madrid, whilst 22-year-old Austria international Kevin Wimmer has signed from German side 1. FC Koln.
