Tottenham Hotspur are preparing to make an opening bid of £15m for Saido Berahino.
Mauricio Pochettino has been chasing the striker all summer, and after watching his side pick up just one point from their opening two league games, The Telegraph are reporting the Argentinian is about to make a move.
West Brom will reject Spurs’ opening bid however, as Tony Pulis is holding out for a deal closer to the £25m mark for his prized asset.
The Baggies boss admitted on Saturday that there will be departures before the end of the month, and the 22-year-old could be amongst them.
“To say he’s not going to go is wrong for me, but it’s going to have to be something special,” he said.
“The window is a nightmare at times, especially for clubs like us who are in transition. You don’t know where you’re going or what you’re doing.
“We need to have a good two weeks, then we can close it and just concentrate on football.”
Like Spurs, Pulis’ side said have picked up just one point in their opening two Premier League games after a defeat to Man City and draw to Watford.
Berahino started both games, but The Baggies failed to score in either outing.
