Tottenham’s £150m Man City raid could trigger three transfer dominoes

Tottenham Hotspur’s extraordinary pursuit of Savinho and Omar Marmoush could have consequences stretching well beyond two potential arrivals before the transfer deadline.

Spurs are in talks with Manchester City over both attackers, with discussions understood to be advancing and City prepared to sanction their departures for the right price.

The Times reports that Savinho is valued at £85m, while City would want more for Marmoush than the £59m they paid Eintracht Frankfurt. TalkSPORT has put the potential combined package at around £150m.

No agreement has been reached, but completing even one of those transfers could start moving several other pieces of Roberto De Zerbi’s squad rebuild.

Savinho and Marmoush could unlock two Tottenham exits

Richarlison’s future immediately becomes more interesting if Tottenham land Marmoush.

Read Tottenham reported this week that the Brazilian is keen on returning to Everton, with De Zerbi prepared to sanction an exit if the right deal can be agreed.

Allowing Richarlison to leave before another centre-forward arrives would leave Spurs vulnerable, particularly with Dominic Solanke only recently returning to training.

Marmoush changes that equation.

The Egypt international can operate through the middle or from the left and would give De Zerbi another senior option capable of leading the attack. His arrival could therefore make Richarlison’s departure considerably easier for Tottenham to approve.

Mikey Moore’s proposed Köln loan is another deal closely connected to Spurs’ attacking recruitment.

A season-long move has been delayed despite a reported verbal agreement because Tottenham have been waiting to strengthen out wide. Read Tottenham previously covered how Moore’s exit had been put on hold while Spurs pursued Savinho and Cody Gakpo.

Signing Savinho would remove much of that uncertainty.

Moore has impressed during pre-season and scored twice against Hoffenheim, but regular Bundesliga football could still represent the better development route if another senior winger arrives.

What happens to Tottenham’s Cody Gakpo pursuit?

The third domino concerns Gakpo.

Tottenham’s pursuit of the Liverpool forward remains alive, with Fabrizio Romano reporting that talks are still ongoing and the player is open to the move.

Yet spending around £150m on Savinho and Marmoush would inevitably raise questions over whether another major attacking investment remains realistic or necessary.

There is also significant positional overlap.

Savinho provides the natural wide threat Spurs have been pursuing throughout the summer, while Marmoush can cover both the left flank and centre-forward role. Those are two of the areas Gakpo would also be expected to occupy.

Tottenham could still decide they want all three, particularly after a summer in which De Zerbi has aggressively reshaped his squad.

But if the Manchester City double deal advances towards an agreement, Richarlison, Moore and Gakpo are three situations worth watching closely.

Spurs are not simply negotiating for two more forwards. They could be approaching the moves that finally unlock the closing stages of their summer rebuild.
