  • Tottenham to face Chelsea tonight
  • Guglielmo Vicario back from injury
  • De Zerbi faces goalkeeping dilemma

Tottenham Hotspur travel to Stamford Bridge to take on Chelsea later today in a game that could confirm their Premier League survival hopes.

After West Ham United’s 3-1 defeat to Newcastle United, Roberto De Zerbi’s side need just a point from their remaining two games to remain in the English top-flight.

However, if they beat the Blues, they can mathematically secure their safety today, which is what they’ll be hoping for.

De Zerbi’s pre-match press conference was an interesting one, to say the least, as Tottenham prepare for a crucial game.

And the Italian faces a dilemma between the sticks, with Guglielmo Vicario back to full fitness.

De Zerbi to choose between Vicario and Kinsky

Vicario has yet to feature under De Zerbi after undergoing hernia surgery over the course of the previous international break.

In his absence, Antonin Kinsky has delivered a string of fantastic displays between the sticks. The Czech goalkeeper endured a horror night in Spain against Atletico Madrid and was expected to be sidelined after his error-strewn display.

However, he has well and truly put that night behind him and showed his class with crucial saves against Wolves, Brighton and Aston Villa.

That said, De Zerbi confirmed that Vicario is now back in action, although he has yet to decide who will play between the sticks for Tottenham.

“Viciario is available to play. I’ll decide tomorrow [who will start in goal],” said the Tottenham manager.

Yes, Vicario is number one but we have to consider the physical condition, the moment, everything, but I have a big relationship with Antonin Kinsky and Vicario as well and there will not be any problem.

Kinsky should keep his place for Tottenham

In our predicted XI piece, we wrote on Read Tottenham that Kinsky should start vs Chelsea.

That said, we also predicted that De Zerbi could reinstate Vicario if he’s fully fit, as he admitted earlier that the Italian is his first-choice goalkeeper.

If it were up to us, it would be a no-brainer to back Kinsky as there is no reason to change something that doesn’t need fixing.

Kinsky’s ball-playing ability has been a big plus for Tottenham in recent weeks, while he has also made a string of tremendous saves.

Regardless of what happens, this is undoubtedly the biggest decision De Zerbi has had to make at Tottenham so far.

And judging by how his Tottenham tenure has gone so far, the Lilywhites faithful will be fully behind the manager and his decision.
