Tottenham: Dominic Solanke injury update after coming off vs Wolves

At a glance:

  • Solanke forced off vs Wolves
  • Suspected hamstring injury
  • De Zerbi faces another injury blow

Tottenham were dealt a massive injury blow in the first half vs Wolves as Dominic Solanke limped off with an injury.

The scores are level at Molineux after a rather uneventful game of football. However, the Englishman’s injury is a cause for concern for Roberto De Zerbi, who is already missing some key players.

The likes of Wilson Odobert, Mohammed Kudus and Dejan Kulusevski are long-term absentees, while Guglielmo Vicario and Destiny Udogie are out but could return shortly.

Solanke went down at the centre circle and was immediately replaced by Richarlison.

Hamstring injury for Solanke

The Englishman hit the ground off the ball, which is never a good sign. Shortly after going down, he gestured to the Tottenham medical staff that he would not be okay to continue.

Richarlison came on in his place and the Brazilian will look to inspire his side in the second half. He has nine Premier League goals to his name and is Tottenham’s top scorer.

However, Solanke’s injury just adds to Tottenham and De Zerbi’s misery as they edge closer to the drop.

Speaking on the BBC, Chris Waddle claimed it could be a potential hamstring injury for the striker.

And Michael Dawson claims his injury could be a massive blow for a Tottenham side that has struggled for goals this season.

Immediately after Solanke went down, Dawson said on Sky, “When you need goals, you don’t need your centre forward going down.”
