At a glance:
- Troy Parrott open to Tottenham return
- Striker ripping it up in the Eredivisie
- Irishman would sign even if Spurs are relegated
Tottenham may have just five games left in the Premier League as they remain locked in a relegation dog fight.
If the game against Wolves doesn’t go their way, Roberto De Zerbi and Co may need to mentally start preparing for life in the Championship if other results go against them.
In terms of squad planning for the 2026-27 season, losing their Premier League status could be a hammer blow for Tottenham, as a lot of key players would leave.
However, Alasdair Gold has provided a big update on Troy Parrott, who is well known in this part of the country.
Parrott open to Tottenham return
Parrott was sold to AZ Alkmaar in the summer of 2024 with a 20% sell on clause.
And since leaving the club, the striker has really come into his own for club and country.

Due to his exploits for the Dutch club, he is expected to be a wanted man in the summer. And Alasdair Gold believes the prolific striker would relish a return to Tottenham in the summer, even if they go down.
“From what I understand, even if Spurs go down, Parrott would still strongly consider,” said Gold on his YouTube channel.
“Let’s say even go, I’d say, would be keen on coming back to the club just because he’s got a lot of affection for AZ.
“If he’s going to go anywhere, of course, he would love Spurs to come back in for him because he just wants the chance to show what he could do in that shirt.”
Tottenham need to bring Parrott back
Parrott loves the club and it goes without saying that he knows what it means to represent Tottenham.

De Zerbi will certainly be on the lookout for a striker in the summer to provide cover and competition for Dominic Solanke and Richarlison, with Randal Kolo Muani set to return to PSG after his loan spell.
Whether or not Tottenham remain in the Premier League, they need to make a move for Parrott, who would add some much-needed character and goals to a squad that is clearly struggling on both fronts.
Personal terms won’t be an issue and Tottenham also have a sell-on clause, which would essentially work out to be a discount for them if they decide to re-sign him for AZ Alkmaar.
