Around 10 months after Tottenham won the UEFA Europa League, they find themselves edging closer to Premier League relegation.
With five games remaining, they are well and truly in the drop zone after a 2-2 draw against Brighton at home. Nottingham Forest extended their lead over Tottenham to five points after a 4-1 win over Burnley. West Ham, who are one point above Spurs face Crystal Palace on Monday.
A win would give the Hammers a two-match swing in the relegation battle. While it’s not over until the end, it would be a huge blow for the north London side.
A letter to Brennan Johnson from a Tottenham fan
You gave Tottenham fans the greatest moment of their footballing lives last year. The goal you scored in the Europa League final will echo through this club and its fanbase forever and ever.
Brennan, some daft fans gave you stick at the start of last season. But you must know that the large majority of the fanbase will always support you and cherish you. The way you overcame that to not only become our top scorer, but also create history, garners immense respect.
Now, a few months later, fate finds you and us in a similar situation.
You have faced criticism at Crystal Palace, and Tottenham need you again. We need you to take points off West Ham tonight.
You have got two assists for Palace, but there would truly be no bigger occasion to get that first goal. A goal that could not only change your career at Selhurst Park, but also save Spurs from relegation.
The reality is, we haven’t won a single Premier League game since you left us in January. We have missed goal scorers, and that’s what you know best. The most difficult thing in football, and you did it with ease at Tottenham.
You will always be a Tottenham icon
The truth is that regardless of what happens today, you will always be a Tottenham icon. You won us that Europa League. We all remember your celebrations at the victory parade on your birthday!
Brennan, you are part of the Spurs history and will always remain so. However, if you could bail us out again today, it would just add more glitter to your name, which is already etched in gold. There would be no better person to do it either.

We don’t just remember you for your goals. We remember you for your character and your relationships with the squad, especially Archie Gray and James Maddison. We will always be grateful for everything you have done for us. We just hope that you are able to add one more thing to that list.
As we chanted so many times, Johnson Again Ole Ole!
