Tottenham player ratings: Brighton (H)

Spurs have secured a vital three points against a resilient Brighton team, solidifying their claim on a top-four spot. Tottenham dominated possession throughout the game but Brighton were determined to keep a clean sheet at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium. Having their majority of their men behind the ball for almost the entire 90 minutes, Brighton looked as though they were going to keep Spurs at bay. However, Christian Eriksen stepped up with one of his trademark long-range strikes to snatch a massive win for the Lillywhites.

This result has come at the perfect time for Spurs with both Arsenal and Manchester United losing at the weekend and Chelsea dropping points to Burnley. Spurs currently sit third in the Premier League on 70 points, three points clear of Chelsea. Spurs cannot celebrate for too long as Arsenal and Manchester United both have a game in hand on the teams above them.
