Spurs’ last three Premier League results have been less than perfect. With only a point taken from Burnley, Chelsea and Arsenal; Spurs have dropped out of the title race and now have the rest of the top six pack closing in on them.
Tomorrow’s trip to Southampton is an excellent chance to get back to winning ways. Southampton only have one win from their last five and have been dipping in and out of the relegation zone all season. With Harry Kane back to his best and Dele Alli due to return to the side, Southampton will have to put in a resilient performance to get something out of this game.
Spurs are coming off the back of a brilliant performance in the Champions League against Dortmund and will be after all three points against one of the Premier League’s strugglers.
Here’s how we predict Spurs will line up against the Saints:
GK: Hugo Lloris
After his goalkeeping heroics on Tuesday night, the Spurs skipper is a certain start.
RWB: Serge Aurier
Aurier has impressed in recent weeks and could start again tomorrow.
CB: Toby Alderweireld
Alderweireld has been a consistent part of Spurs’ back line and will most certainly start against his former club.
CB: Davinson Sanchez
Sanchez will be looking to use his speed to keep Nathan Redmond quiet on Saturday afternoon.
CB: Jan Vertonghen
Vertonghen has arguably been one of Tottenham’s best players this season and will be hoping to add another clean sheet to his record in this one.
LWB: Danny Rose
Pochettino will likely rotate his left sided full backs once again and give Rose the nod over Ben Davies.
CM: Christian Eriksen
Eriksen could be pushed into a deeper role for this game with the expected return of Dele Alli.
CM: Moussa Sissoko
Sissoko will be looking to provide pace and power to Spurs’ midfield.
CAM: Dele Alli
Having been injured since late January, Alli is expected to return to the side to add some extra creativity.
ST: Harry Kane
Despite his injury Kane still has 16 Premier League goals to his name this season and will be Spurs’ main goal threat tomorrow.
ST: Heung-Min Son
Son scored against Southampton earlier in the season and will be looking to add to his tally once again against the Saints.
