Tottenham face Borussia Dortmund on Thursday night, looking to achieve an almost impossible task and overturn their three goal deficit from the first leg.
Dortmund completely outplayed a weakened Spurs team in Germany last week, with Reus and Aubamayeng grabbing the goals for the home side.
The return leg at White Hart Lane is likely to see a number of players once again rested, with Harry Kane likely to revert back to a place on the bench, whilst the likes of Alli and Dier are contenders for a rest ahead of Sunday’s important clash with Bournemouth in the league.
It will therefore allow the fringe players at Spurs a chance to impress the home crowd, with Ryan Mason, Nabil Bentaleb and Tom Carroll all expected to come into midfield. The full backs are once again expected to rotated, with Kieran Trippier and Ben Davies set to replace Kyle Walker and Danny Rose.
The visitors, Borussia Dortmund, are once again competing at the top end of the Bundesliga under Thomas Tuchel, who replaced club legend Jurgen Klopp in the summer after Dortmund’s incredibly poor season last year.
Although Dortmund still have a good chance to win the Bundlesiga, the Europa League represents a great opportunity for Tuchel to win his first trophy at Dortmund and he will therefore likely select a strong time in North London.
Can Spurs turn it around at White Hart Lane?
