Predicted XI: Borussia Dortmund (a)

After the furore of the derbies in the past week, Spurs’ run of difficult fixtures continues with a trip to Borussia Dortmund in the Europa League.

Mauricio Pochettino’s side come into the game with an air of disappointment looming over their heads. The loss to West Ham last Wednesday was difficult to take but having been 2-1 up against a 10-man Arsenal team at the weekend, there is a sense of ‘what could have been’ having forfeited their lead.

As a result the Lilywhites will be looking to avoid going three consecutive games without a win but this will be a difficult task at the Westfalenstadion – one of the most daunting grounds in the whole of Europe.

Dortmund have been in formidable form this season and sit only five points behind Bayern Munich in the Bundesliga, despite the vast resources of the Bavarian club.

At the heart of this success has been the imperious Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang who has hit 32 goals in 35 games this season including eight in 11 in Europe, making him one of the most feared frontmen on the continent.

Nevertheless, Dortmund have shown themselves to be beatable in the Europa League this season having suffered a disappointing 1-0 home defeat to PAOK in the last game week of the group stage.

With this in mind, here is a predicted XI for the game.
