Tottenham fans, more than most will understand the frustration of being linked with countless players over the course of a transfer window, only for the vast majority of them to fade away without a trace. Then, come the end of the month, the club is left with players like Louis Saha and Ryan Nelsen which represents nothing short of a disappointment.
Then to compound the feeling, it comes out in the press a few months later, that a player who is now performing brilliantly for their new club, was apparently, at one stage, on the verge of signing for Spurs.
