Mousa Dembele’s magnificent strike in the dying minutes at White Hart Lane gave Spurs a deserved victory over a resilient Anderlecht side.
Spurs had originally took the lead through Harry Kane, who has rediscovered last season’s form, when he finished from Eriksen’s through ball.
Tottenham would remain in the lead until Anderlecht substitute Ezekiel finished past Lloris from Defour’s cross to put his team level.
In the aftermath of Anderlecht’s equalizer, Dembele was brought on to replace an ineffective Ryan Mason and with the game entering the 87th minute, Dembele thundered a shot into the Anderlecht net after receiving a pass from Son on the edge of the area.
