Ahead of Tottenham’s game with Manchester City on Saturday, Read Tottenham spoke to Josh Lawless of Read Man City and he told us everything we need to know about our Manchester opponents.
What do you think of Manchester City’s start to the season?
It’s been a really positive start to the season, nearly perfect actually, apart from recent defeats to Juventus and West Ham. But 15 points out of 18 is a great total at this stage and City fans should be pleased with the start made after last season’s disappointing campaign.
Which Manchester City player has impressed you most so far this season?
I think there’s been a few notable performers. Bacary Sagna has been absolutely solid at right-back and it’s hard to see Pablo Zabaleta displacing him with the way he has been playing. But I’ve been most impressed by Fernandinho, who looks to be back at his very best this season.

Out of the players signed in the summer, who do you think will have the biggest impact?
Kevin De Bruyne undoubtedly. Already you can see the impact he is having on the team – in fact he was a clear man of the match in his full debut against West Ham. He is an attacking machine and will be key to any success this season.
Will Manchester City win any silverware this season?
I think there’s a good chance of it. Champions League is surely out of our reach (we just can’t see to get going in it), but we’ve made a strong start in the Premier League and will be up there no doubt if we can remain consistent. Pellegrini also values the League Cup quite highly so that’s also a possibility.
If you could change the Manchester City starting line-up, who would you replace and why?
If I could change one thing about Pellegrini it would probably be the faith he has in a player like Navas. The Spaniard is a decent option on the right but is not productive enough to be a regular in the side. But I suspect that when De Bruyne, Silva, Sterling etc are all fit, he may be relegated to the bench.

What is your favourite game between Tottenham and Manchester City?
I would have to pick two from the same season, in 2011/12. The first was at White Hart Lane when Dzeko scored four in a thumping 5-1 win, while later in the season City and Spurs played out a thriller at the Etihad – with Balotelli bagging a late penalty to keep our title dream alive.
Finally, what is your score prediction for Saturday?
We usually do quite well at White Hart Lane but of course it will still be a tough game. I’ll go for 2-0 City.
