Kane scores again for England

Harry Kane came off the bench to score the opening goal of the game as England beat Switzerland 2-0 on Tuesday evening.

The Spurs striker came off the bench on 57 minutes and grabbed his second goal in as many games just eight mintues later, before Wayne Rooney netted a penalty to break the Three Lions all-time goalscoring record.

Ryan Mason remained on the bench for Roy Hodgson’s side, who guarantee top spot in Group E with the win having already booked their place at Euro 2016.

Elsewhere, Kevin Wimmer was an unused substitute once more as Austria beat Sweden 4-1 to seal their place at next year’s Finals.

Marcel Koller’s side are also guaranteed top spot in Group G having created an unassailable lead over second-placed Russia – who will fight with Sweden for the final qualification place in the group.

In Asia, Son Heung-Min left South Korea’s squad early to fly back to London, but that did not prevent them from beating Lebanon 3-0 in their World Cup 2018 qualifier.

The Taeguk Warriors are tied at the top of Group G with Lebanon, with the two sides due to meet next month.

In the early hours of Friday morning, DeAndre Yedlin played the full 90 minutes for USA as they were thrashed 4-1 by Brazil in Foxborough.
