Adebayor back on West Ham’s radar

West Ham have reignited their interest in Emmanuel Adebayor.

According to ESPN, The Hammers are now considering a loan move for the Togolese attacker, after withdrawing their interest in a permanent move earlier in the moth.

Slaven Bilic wanted to bring Adebayor to Upton Park to booster his attacking options, but David Gold would not fund his extortionate £100k-a-week wage packet in a long-term deal.

However it seems a loan deal that would suit both parties could now materialize, with Spurs willing to pay a portion of the player’s payslip in order to get him out of North London, whilst West Ham are under no committment to retain the player at the end of the season – at which point he becomes a free agent.

The move would also be preferential for Adebayor – who earlier in the month turned down a reunion with former Spurs boss Tim Sherwood at Aston Villa because he wanted to stay in the capital.

Now 31, Adebayor played just eight league games under Mauricio Pochettino last season, scoring twice.
