Southampton manager Ronald Koeman says Victor Wanyama is not for sale.
The Kenyan midfielder is reportedly a transfer target for Mauricio Pochettino, but the Saints boss is unwilling to let the player leave.
“We don’t sell any more players, that is very clear in my opinion” said Koeman, who also ruled out the possibility of letting Saido Mane go to Manhcester United.
“I don’t like (these rumors) because maybe players are thinking and they are not then focused on what they have to do.”
Wanyama was a key part of Southampton’s team last season as they surpassed expectations by finishing seventh in the league, and Pochettino – who managed the player at St Marys – sees him as the ideal candidate to bolster Spurs’ midfield.
Even if Koeman was open to the idea of letting the former Celtic man go, it is extremely unlikely that he would allow the player to move to White Hart Lane with tensions supposedly high between the teams after the transfer of Toby Alderweireld.
Southampton have accused Spurs of having already had a deal to sign the defender whilst he was on loan at St Marys last season, which thus ruined their chances of completing a permanent deal.
