Emmanuel Adebayor will not be signing for London rivals West Ham United.
The Togo international was holding out for a move to Upton Park but ESPN sources say that a switch is now off the cards.
Slavan Bilic is keen to add an attacker to his squad following injuries to Enner Valencia and Andy Carroll, and Adebayor was top of his wanted list, but Hammers chairman David Gold is unwilling to meet his extortionate wage demands.
A deal to reunite the attacker with Tim Sherwood at Aston Villa looked destined to be completed earlier in the transfer window, but Adebayor pulled out of the deal because he doesn’t want to move away from London.
It seems the former Arsenal and Manchester City man may have to face vacating the capital if he is to play first-team football this season however, as potential suitors remain few and far between with less than two weeks of the transfer window remaining.
