Roberto Soldado has apologized to Spurs fans after agreeing a move to Villareal.
The Spanish striker returned just 16 goals in two years at White Hart Lane and has penned an open letter to fans in which he apologizes for his form in North London.
“I am sorry for not being able to meet expectations that Tottenham had put on me,” the 30-year-old said.
“These two years have been difficult for me, but I wouldn’t change this experience for anything in the world.”
Soldado went on to praise Spurs fans for their continued support, saying that he felt at home from day one.
“Thanks for the elegance and treatment recieved from all the staff, my teammates, and all the fans that didn’t stop supporting me in every second I was on the pitch,” he added.
“I can only give thanks to Tottenham for allowing me to represent the best club in England.”
Soldado will be unveiled as a Villareal player on Monday.
