Tottenham wing-back Ryan Fredericks has joined Bristol City for an undisclosed fee.
The 22-year-old signs a three-year deal at Ashton Gate after four senior years at White Hart Lane which have been largely limited to loan spells and cup appearances.
Fredericks spent the entirity of last season on loan at Championship Play-Off finalists Middlesbrough and made 19 appearance, including against bitter rivals Arsenal in the FA Cup.
He will now return to the second-tier of English football with newly-promoted Bristol City, and Ashton Gate boss Steve Cotterill is pleased with the addition.
“There was certainly a fair bit of competition for his signature from a number of other Championship clubs,” he told the club’s official website.
“He’s had a good grounding at Tottenham and enjoyed a good loan spell at Middlesbrough. I’m sure he will fit in with out group of players.”
Fredericks made his Spurs debut against Hearts in 2011 – the same game in which Harry Kane and Thomas Carroll also made their first-team debuts.
He has since had loan spells at Brentford and Millwall, before last year’s stint in the North-East.
