Harrison hat-trick gives U21s French win

Shayon Harrison scored the ‘perfect’ hat-trick as Tottenham U21s beat Guingamp 4-1 on Saturday afternoon.

The 18-year-old scored with each foot and his head before Kenny McEvoy’s fourth, as Ugo Ehiogu’s side ended the group with a win following a dissapointing start to the National U21 Tournament in Ploufragan.

Penalty shoot-out defeats in Spurs’ opening two group games means the side must wait for other results to see if they’ve made it to the final four, with fellow Premier League side West Brom one of the potential opponents that await on Sunday.

Harrison’s first goal of the game came half-way through the 50 minute game, followed by a second from the spot less than a minute later after Nathan Oduwa was hauled back in the box.

Just two minutes after the break, he took advantage of confusion amongst the French defence to complete his hat-trick, before Zaniou Sane pulled a goal back.

McEvoy then put the result beyond any doubt in the final minute, blasting past the Guingamp goalkeeper from close range.
