At a glance:
- Randal Kolo Muani fully fit
- James Tavernier linked on a free transfer
- Tottenham scouting Zadok Yohanna
Two new names have been added to Tottenham’s transfer shortlist as they step up preparations for the upcoming summer transfer window.
In the meantime, they are also preparing for a crucial Premier League clash against Aston Villa.
After Xavi Simons’ ACL injury blow, it appeared as if Randal Kolo Muani could also face a spell on the sidelines. However, those reports have been emphatically quashed.
Kolo Muani fit for Tottenham
Over the past 24 hours, speculation surrounding Kolo Muani’s fitness dominated social media.
After already losing Simons and Dominic Solanke against Wolves, it would have been a massive blow for Roberto De Zerbi to be without the Frenchman.
However, reliable reports have confirmed that Kolo Muani is not injured and will be fit to play against Aston Villa.
The PSG loanee is expected to start in attack alongside Richarlison and Mathys Tel.
Zadok Yohanna scouted by Tottenham
In recent years, Tottenham have had a fair bit of success in terms of signing rough diamonds.
Archie Gray and Lucas Bergvall are key first-team players now after joining as relative unknowns (yes, Gray was a big player for Leeds United, but wasn’t known to the entire footballing fraternity, so allow it!).
The same could be said about Luka Vuskovic, who has quickly become one of the most exciting defenders in world football.
And now, Zadok Yohanna has been linked with a move to Tottenham as they aim to repeat their trick.
The Nigerian winger is currently playing in Sweden and is primarily a right-winger, a position the North London outfit might look to reinforce in the summer.
James Tavernier, anyone?
Earlier this month, it was announced that James Tavernier would leave Rangers after 11 years at the club.
After joining from Wigan Athletic in 2015, the Englishman has become one of their most important players of the modern era, winning five major trophies at Ibrox.
The 34-year-old’s contract expires in the summer and he is on the lookout for a new challenge.
Tottenham are interested in signing Tavernier on a free transfer, although the deal hinges on whether they avoid relegation.
He would add right-back cover, set-piece threat and a lot of goals for the club, while his leadership abilities need no introduction.
