Tottenham put Wednesday’s loss in the Champions League behind them, as they continued their unbeaten Premier League season today, drawing 1-1 with rivals Arsenal in the North London derby.
Tottenham went 1-0 behind just before half-time, with Kevin Wimmer putting Mesut Ozil’s free-kick into his own net, after a period of Arsenal pressure.
Tottenham began the second half strongly, and were level after just six minutes. Harry Kane returned to the side for today’s game after being out with injury, and announced his return with a goal, stroking his penalty down the middle to bring the game level.
This draw sees Spurs remain fifth in the league, with just five points between them and league leaders Liverpool, and Tottenham remain the only unbeaten side in the league. A win for Arsenal would have taken them top of the table.

“It was a strong performance. I’m very pleased and happy for the players because we worked a lot.” Spurs coach Mauricio Pochettino said in an interview with the club’s official website. “I thought we were fantastic. We played that system at Watford last season and it’s about flexibility to try to find the right solution, to try to score goals and win games. We finished strong, it was good after a month that was difficult, some small issues happened, but we’re happy now to have two weeks to try to recover all the players so we can compete better.”
