Tottenham Hotspur manager Mauricio Pochettino has applauded his side after their routine 4-1 victory over League One strugglers Colchester United as they comfortably progressed to the fifth round of the FA Cup.
Spurs booked their ticket in the last 16 with two goals in either half from Nacer Chadli, as well as another couple added from Eric Dier and Tom Carroll to cancel out a bizarre late Ben Davies own goal late on in the affair to seal the 4-1 victory.
The Argentinian mastermind was also very happy with the professionalism that his team showed throughout the course of the game, stating that they showed their League One oppositions a significant amount of respect in the tie.
Speaking to the BBC after the game, Pochettino said:
The win means a lot. We showed respect for our opponent, we knew all about Colchester because the competition is magic and we needed to be very focused.

Pochettino showed his desire for a good cup run this season, by fielding an extremely strong side for the occasion with the likes of Harry Kane, Eric Dier, Erik Lamela and Christian Eriksen all starting for the visitors.
Despite admitting that his side allowed Colchester to believe in a cup upset, Pochettino was happy with how his team shut out the game.
In the first 12-15 minutes we created a lot of chances but it was difficult to score. Maybe we invited them to believe a little but always the game was under control and it was a fair result.
