Mauricio Pochettino has a fully-fit squad to choose from for the visit of Stoke City on Saturday afternoon.
Captain Hugo Lloris is available after coming through 90 minutes for the U21s on Monday, whilst Danny Rose has recovered from the injury that ruled him out of last weekend’s defeat to Manchester United.
Andros Townsend has also resumed full training but is only likely to make the bench, and he could be joined by England U21 star Alex Pritchard who is fit again after suffering an injury at this summer’s European
Championships.
The recoveries of several key men pose a selection headache for the Spurs boss, who will be hoping to see his side bounce back from their opening day loss.
“All players are fit and that is good news,” said Pochettino.
“The only shame is we can (only) pick 18 players on Saturday!”
The Argentinian has had a tough time of things against Mark Hughes’ side since arriving in England however, failing to beat the Potters in five attempts -including two defeats last season – and the Spurs’ boss wants revenge.
“It’s true we lost the last two games that we played at White Hart Lane and the Britannia Stadium, but it’s a good opportunity to take our revenge,” he said.
“It’s a different season. We’re happy with our performance, (although) disappointed with the result, against Manchester United. I think we played well, our performance was good. We need to show on Saturday that we
deserved more.”
Hughes will be without Xherdan Shaqiri despite his £12m move from Inter Milan, with the Switzerland international joining a lengthy absentee list for Mark Hughes.
Peter Odemwingie and Ryan Shawcross have both been ruled out of the match through injury, joining Bojan on the sidelines as the Spaniard continues his rehabilitation from a long-term injury.
Marc Wilson and Marko Arnaoutovic are also doubtful after missing their opening day defeat to Liverpool.
The lengthy injury list means there could be a chance to shine for former Spurs player Peter Crouch, who is now in his fifth season at at the club after joining from White Hart Lane for £12m.
Travelling Spurs fans will be hoping the lanky striker has a quiet day if he is to feature, though, and that come 5pm, it will be the visitors celebrating their first points of the season.
