Sunderland are plotting a move for Tottenham midfielder Moussa Dembele.
According to The Mirror, the Belgium international has became unsettled at White Hart Lane because of uncertainty over his squad status, and Dick Advocaat is willing to offer first-team football in an attempt to bring him to the North-East.
Daniel Levy nor Mauricio Pochettino want rid of the 28-year-old – having already lost three central midfielders this summer – and so the club would demand at least £15m if the player was to leave the club.
The Black Cats are desperate for reinforcements after an embarrasing 4-2 defeat to Leicester City in their Premier League opener, however, and could be about to meet Spurs’ valuation after a deal for QPR’s Leroy Fer fell through last week.
Dembele was signed from Fulham in 2012 and made 84 appearances in his first two seasons, but the player has since fell down the pecking order and played just 21 times in the league last year.
