# ‘Too much’ – Roberto De Zerbi reveals what he told his Tottenham players at halftime

**Tottenham Hotspur secured a commanding 2-0 win against Chelsea to make it two successive Premier League wins for the first time under Roberto De Zerbi this season.**

The Lilywhites dominated proceedings at Stamford Bridge and deservedly came away with three points, thanks to an own goal by Mike Penders and a fantastic solo effort by Mathys Tel.

At half-time, the scores were still level despite Tottenham playing better football than the hosts, so it looked like it could be another frustrating night out for De Zerbi and co.

And the Italian has revealed what he told his players that made them step up to the task after the interval.

## Roberto De Zerbi reveals Tottenham team talk

“At half-time, I said exactly like this,” said the Italian via [Tottenham’s official website](https://www.tottenhamhotspur.com/news/1180908/chelsea-0-2-spurs-roberto-de-zerbis-verdict).

“I said we are playing very well, but there is too much balance – the result is too much balance.

“We can’t consider that chance to score or to shoot, and we have to create more and more chances.

“I think the key for this club, for our club, for our team, is the mentality. I think now we are improving in the mentality. There is another atmosphere, there is another connection, and another relationship with the players.”

Tottenham have now collected seven points from their last three Premier League games and will look to carry on in the same vein to move up the table.
