# Roberto De Zerbi explains why Tottenham’s record at Stamford Bridge is abysmal

**Tottenham have won just once at Stamford Bridge in the Premier League era, which came back in 2018 under Mauricio Pochettino.**

The Lilywhites have secured wins against the Blues over the years, but away from home, it has always proved to be an uphill battle.

The two sides are set to lock horns again tonight, and this time, Tottenham will aim to secure a massive scalp away from home.

Speaking ahead of the game, Roberto De Zerbi has revealed what he thinks about his side’s terrible record at Stamford Bridge.

## Roberto De Zerbi makes Tottenham admission

“I think it’s not just this negative record,” said De Zerbi via [Football London](https://www.football.london/tottenham-hotspur-fc/news/de-zerbi-tottenham-maddison-kulusevski-34808512).

“There are many, many negative records, but for me it’s one motivation more. For the players, I want this negative record, they give us more motivation, more mentality, more energy to win a game, to play a good game.

“Because we have enough qualities to win a game, this game.

> “We have the quality to play well and to win the game.”\

“It’s a derby against one very good team, a very good coach; they have a clear style of play, great players, but also Tottenham players are very good.

“The level of the players is high; we have to show together as a team, not as individuals.”

Judging by his comments, De Zerbi doesn’t really seem to care about Tottenham’s failures at Stamford Bridge over the years, which could serve his side well tonight.
