# ‘Tough’ – De Zerbi suggests Tottenham player was a bit selfish vs Forest

**Tottenham Hotspur and Nottingham Forest shared the spoils 0-0 in what was a well-fought game of Premier League football.**

Roberto De Zerbi’s side recorded their first points of the season after successive defeats against Brentford and Newcastle United.

On the balance of play, it was probably a fair result as Tottenham failed to create too many meaningful chances.

However, the one chance that they got was fluffed by Omar Marmoush in the second half as he failed to find a pass and instead went for a long-range shot.

And De Zerbi feels the Egyptian had other options in that situation, which could have led to a goal.

## Omar Marmoush underwhelms for Tottenham

In the first half, Marmoush was clean through on goal but put the ball wide of the goal when he was 1v1 with the keeper.

His blushes were spared as the offside flag went up belatedly, but he was at the crime scene once again in the second half.

Antonin Kinsky’s goalkick found its way to him perfectly as he ran through on goal to evaluate his options.

Andy Robertson overlapped him and Mohammed Kudus was free on the opposite flank just inside the box, but Marmoush opted to shoot and skied his effort.

> Marmoush has two massive chances, we had 10+ corners, Solanke had a very decent chance near the end.\

“I remember the situation with \[Omar\] Marmoush when he shot and \[Andy\] Robertson was behind him overlapping,” said De Zerbi via the [BBC](https://www.bbc.com/sport/football/live/cqr7dedzlmjgt?page=2).

“If we improve in the last third, I think we can score many goals because we have the players with big qualities.

“Now is a tough moment to accept this result because I think we played well.”

As the Italian said, Tottenham don’t have enough quality and composure in attack and have failed to score in the Premier League this season.

If that doesn’t change soon, it looks like it could be another long season ahead..
