# ‘Confirmed’ – Fabrizio Romano’s latest ‘here we go’ is the worst news possible for Tottenham

**Tottenham Hotspur remain on the lookout for one more attacker before the transfer deadline.**

Omar Marmoush and Savio have joined the club in recent weeks, but Roberto De Zerbi feels there is still space for another fresh face in the final third.

Earlier today, it was confirmed that Cody Gakpo would remain at Liverpool this summer amid interest from [Manchester City](https://readmancity.com/2026/08/31/richarlison-iliman-ndiaye-man-city-tottenham-transfer/) and Tottenham, which was a massive blow for the Lilywhites.

And now, it appears as if another one of their targets will not be moving to Tottenham.

## Tottenham target Iliman Ndiaye to join Manchester City

Tottenham were locked in talks to sign [Iliman Ndiaye](https://readtottenham.com/tag/iliman-ndiaye/) from Everton and agreed a deal, with Richarlison set to travel in the opposite direction.

However, the deal fell through at the last moment as Manchester City made a late play for the Senegalese forward.

Romano confirmed on X: “BREAKING: Manchester City agree deal to sign Iliman Ndiaye from Everton, here we go!

Tottenham have reacted by shifting focus to Mykhaylo Mudryk, who wants to leave Chelsea on loan and reunite with Roberto De Zerbi.

We have an interesting 24 hours ahead, that’s for sure…
