# Roberto De Zerbi reveals why Savio will miss Tottenham vs Newcastle United

**The Tottenham Hotspur team sheet vs Newcastle United had a surprise or two in it.**

Pedro Porro has been named in the starting XI for the first time this season, with Archie Gray set to return to midfield vs the Magpies.

Roberto De Zerbi opted to throw new signing Omar Marmoush straight into the thick of the action as the Egyptian leads the line for the Lilywhites, hoping to continue his fine record vs Newcastle.

However, there was also bad news as there was no sign of Savio in the matchday squad after his impressive debut vs Charlton.

## Roberto De Zerbi says Tottenham playing it safe with Savio

Savio came off the bench during the Carabao Cup game and immediately recorded a goal and an assist as he endeared himself to the Tottenham fans.

However, he is unavailable today due to muscle fatigue, according to De Zerbi.

“There was bad news yesterday, before training in the afternoon,” said the Italian via [Football London](https://www.football.london/tottenham-hotspur-fc/fixtures-results/tottenham-confirmed-team-vs-newcastle-34539332).

“He suffered muscle fatigue and the medical staff didn’t want to take a risk. I agree with them.”

The good news is that De Zerbi went on to confirm that Savio will be fit for their next Premier League clash against Nottingham Forest next week, so Tottenham fans won’t be too fussed with this.
