# Roberto De Zerbi reveals how many goals he expects Savio to score for Tottenham this season

**Tottenham Hotspur secured their first win of the new season as they brushed aside Charlton Athletic 5-1 in the second round of the Carabao Cup.**

After their disappointing defeat to Brentford, Roberto De Zerbi’s side finally showed their class in front of their home fans to set up a third-round clash vs Liverpool.

The game also marked [Savio](https://readtottenham.com/tag/savio/)‘s first appearance for the club as he came off the bench and delivered a goal and an assist.

And De Zerbi feels he’s expecting big things from his newest recruit.

## Savio’s Tottenham goal target revealed

“Yes it is a perfect day for him,” said De Zerbi via [Football London](https://www.football.london/tottenham-hotspur-fc/fixtures-results/de-zerbi-savio-moore-tonali-34523692) when asked about Savio’s cameo.

“I think his biggest step and biggest improvement is to increase the number of goals because (with) his qualities he is one of the best wingers.

“But the best wingers score many goals. I spoke with him yesterday, two days ago. We put the goal on 10-12 goals because we need 10-12 goals from the wingers.

“Last season, I think we suffered too much. Also because the number of goals were not enough to compete for nothing more than that position.”

Savio is clearly a talented player, but in terms of his end product, he still has a lot of work to do to match’s the output De Zerbi is demanding out of him.
