# Newcastle United fail with bid for €70m-rated Tottenham transfer target

**Tottenham are still in the market for at least one more attacking signing before the transfer deadline.**

The Lilywhites confirmed the arrival of Savio yesterday and are also set to welcome Omar Marmoush from [Manchester City](https://readtottenham.com/2026/08/11/what-manchester-city-sources-are-now-saying-about-tottenhams-savinho-pursuit/) imminently.

However, Roberto De Zerbi wants to finish the window with one more attacking signing as the icing on the cake.

And it appears as if one of their transfer targets from earlier in the summer could emerge as an opportunity.

## Tottenham target Matias Fernandez-Pardo to cost €70m

Tottenham were linked with a move for [Matias Fernandez-Pardo](https://readtottenham.com/tag/matias-fernandez-pardo/) last month, who received an offer from Newcastle United yesterday.

And now, Sacha Tavolieri has confirmed that Lille value him at 70m and will not part with him unless their valuation is met, as they are in a healthy financial situation after Ayyoub Bouaddi’s sale to Manchester City.

He wrote on X: “Newcastle United fails to sway LOSC. With a positive financial balance sheet and the sale of Ayyoub Bouaddi for €100M, the French club is in a strong position, and its president, Olivier Letang, holds all the power to stand firm on his €70M asking price.

“The Magpies have taken note in recent hours regarding Matías Fernández-Pardo. Wait and see.”

His asking price is now known and if Newcastle fail with their pursuit, maybe the Belgian international could be back on Tottenham’s radar in the coming days.
