# Midfielder now set to complete surprise Chelsea move after leaving Tottenham

**It’s been a summer of change for Tottenham as they continue to fine-tune their squad.**

Their first team changes in terms of incomings and outgoings are well documented. In terms of their youngsters, a few notable departures have been confirmed on permanent transfers as well as loans.

Ashley Phillips and Will Lankshear moved to Middlesbrough on permanent deals and Luka Vuskovic was sold to Brighton, while Mason Melia will spend the current season on loan at Lincoln City.

Another player who left the club earlier this summer was young midfielder [Leo Black](https://readtottenham.com/tag/leo-black/), whose contract ran out in June 2026.

And now, it appears as if he is set for a move to Chelsea.

“A place I’m proud to call my second home. Being part of this club has helped shape who I am today, and I will always look back on my time here with gratitude.

“Thank you for investing your time, energy, and care in helping me progress and I wish everyone nothing but the best for the future.”

His move to another London rival comes as a surprise, but we won’t blame him for wanting to remain in England to further his development. Good luck with what’s to come, Leo.
