# ‘Official bid’ – Fabrizio Romano confirms massive €30m Tottenham transfer news

**Tottenham Hotspur have been focused on sales in recent weeks, and a handful of players have already departed.**

However, between now and the end of the summer, two notable departures are likely to be confirmed: Cristian Romero and Djed Spence.

The former is close to sealing a move to Atletico Madrid, bringing the curtain down on a long, drawn-out transfer saga.

And now, it appears as if the wheels are in motion for Spence to move to Italy.

## Inter Milan submit official offer to Tottenham for Djed Spence

[Inter have been locked in talks to sign Spence](https://readtottenham.com/2026/08/11/tottenham-transfer-news-as-e45m-deal-to-advance-in-next-few-hours/) since the 2026 FIFA World Cup concluded, with the England international eager to move on.

And now, Romano has confirmed that the reigning Serie A champions have officially submitted an offer to sign the versatile full-back.

He wrote on X: “Inter sent opening official bid for Djed Spence to Tottenham as expected, talks ongoing between clubs at fee over €30m.

Tottenham initially demanded €40m, and now, Romano has confirmed that the two clubs are engaged in talks to complete a deal at a fee over €30m.

Judging by his reporting, this is a deal that should be completed, maybe even as early as this week.
