# ‘Off’ – Tottenham transfer falls through due to last-minute change of heart

**Tottenham Hotspur are looking to offload a handful of young players and those on the fringes of the squad.**

Roberto De Zerbi’s side have spent in excess of £230m this summer on six new arrivals, so it’s important to make a few sales to balance the books and raise money for further incomings.

[Tottenham have agreed a deal to sell Ashley Phillips to Middlesbrough](https://readtottenham.com/2026/08/06/tottenham-transfer-news-medical-scheduled-phillips-middlesbrough/), while Mason Melia has joined Lincoln City on loan and Mikey Moore is close to making a similar move to FC Koln.

[Manor Solomon was set to join West Ham United](https://readtottenham.com/2026/08/04/tottenham-transfer-news-solomon-wanted-hull-west-ham/) on a permanent deal, but now it looks as if the Hammers have pulled the plug on the deal.

## Manor Solomon’s Tottenham departure falls through

Solomon has made just five competitive appearances for Tottenham and has been sent out on loan to Leeds United and Fiorentina.

He has featured regularly in pre-season, though, and has fared quite well, which led to interest from West Ham United and Hull City.

As we mentioned earlier, the Hammers agreed a deal for him, but James Hokery reports that the deal has now fallen through as the Championship outfit are facing a lot of backlash from their fans over his potential arrival.

“EXCL: Manor Solomon’s move to West Ham is OFF,” wrote Hokery on X.

“Despite an agreement having been reached between clubs, #WHUFC board have decided against proceeding with the transfer due to likely backlash over signing the Israeli winger.

“West Ham now expected to turn attention to alternative targets with Simon Adingra being mentioned.”

West Ham are seemingly out as they have decided to turn to alternatives. It remains to be seen if Hull make a move for him, considering they were interested before, but as things stand, Solomon will remain at Tottenham.
