# ‘Big deal’ – Tottenham fans will absolutely love Alasdair Gold’s latest transfer update

**Last week, Roberto De Zerbi made a claim about Tottenham Hotspur making a headline signing in the transfer market that generated a lot of chatter on social media.**

Speaking at a press conference, the Italian claimed the Lilywhites were in talks to complete a ‘bomba.’

“But the transfer market, it’s not finished for sure. We have completed 60 per cent of our project in the transfer market. Now we have another ‘bomba’.”

Now, we’re not sure what he meant or which player, in particular, he was referring to.

But now, Alasdair Gold claims the boss’ words hold a lot of value as he confirmed that Tottenham are working on one massive signing.

## Who could Tottenham target and what did Gold say?

Speaking on his YouTube channel, Gold said: “There’s a big deal they’re clearly working on.

“Whether it comes to pass or whether it happens quickly is a totally different thing. There is more to come.”

Gold has close ties to the club, so it appears as if Tottenham are working on something incredible behind the scenes.

The likes of Savinho and Cody Gakpo have been linked in recent weeks, but with all due respect to the two players – who are fantastic in their own right – they are not the kind of signings that fit the bill.

Earlier this week, [Tottenham were linked with a move for Victor Osimhen](https://readtottenham.com/2026/08/02/tottenham-want-to-sign-osimhen-manchester-united-chelsea/). On his day, the Nigerian striker is up there with the best in the world, so could it be him?

There has been a bit of chatter on social media that the Lilywhites should take advantage of Endrick’s situation at Real Madrid, especially with the Spanish giants in talks to sign Yan Diomande.

At this point, our guess is as good as yours. But Gold saying what he did on his YouTube channel is only going to get the fans more excited.
