# ‘Doors opened’ – Fabrizio Romano provides fresh update on Tottenham transfer target

**Everyone knows Tottenham Hotspur are in the market for attacking reinforcements between now and the end of the summer transfer window.**

[A deal to bring Savinho to N17 hasn’t moved on in weeks](https://readtottenham.com/2026/08/01/savinho-responds-directly-when-asked-to-join-tottenham-hotspur/), while [Eli Junior Kroupi will not join Tottenham this summer](https://readtottenham.com/2026/07/28/fabrizio-romano-eli-junior-kroupi-update-tottenham-barcelona/) after suffering a serious injury in pre-season.

Roberto De Zerbi and co remain on the lookout for other attackers, with [Liverpool’s Cody Gakpo a target for Tottenham](https://readtottenham.com/2026/08/02/tottenham-dealt-massive-blow-gakpo-liverpool/).

[The Lilywhites have also considered a move for Ferran Torres](https://readtottenham.com/2026/08/01/direct-talks-fabrizio-romano-confirms-tottenham-target-is-in-talks-to-join-psg/), who has just a year left on his current deal at Barcelona.

And Fabrizio Romano feels the Spanish international has yet to decide his future amid interest from PSG and other clubs.

## Ferran Torres undecided on his future

Torres is arguably the most popular footballer on the planet currently after his winning goal for Spain at the 2026 FIFA World Cup final vs Argentina.

The versatile forward has less than a year left on his current deal, so teams across the planet such as PSG, Liverpool and others are vying for his signature.

Romano says PSG have held talks to sign him, but the player will ultimately decide his future as Barcelona hope to keep him for the forthcoming season at the very least.

“Paris Saint-Germain had a new round of talks with Ferran Torres’ camp, and the decision will be in the player’s hands,” said Romano on his YouTube channel.

“Barcelona hope to keep Ferran, but it’s up to the player. Doors opened to negotiations with PSG only if Ferran decides to leave.”

Torres was linked with Tottenham earlier, but it appears as if he will either remain at Barcelona or move to PSG.

De Zerbi and co need to look elsewhere for attacking signings and with the new season edging closer to commencing, they are running out of time to bolster their ranks.
