# Igor Tudor’s ‘secret weapon’ finally set for Tottenham arrival after frustrating delay

**Igor Tudor is already facing the heat at Tottenham Hotspur after losing each of his first two games in charge of the club.**

The Croatian took over the reigns on an interim basis after the sacking of Thomas Frank, with the club languishing in 16th place in the Premier League standings.

After the 2-1 defeat to Fulham, [Tudor dismissed talks of relegation being a possibility for Tottenham](https://readtottenham.com/2026/03/01/igor-tudor-reveals-whether-tottenham-can-actually-get-relegated-after-damaging-fulham-loss/).

However, they are the only winless side in the Premier League in 2026 and haven’t won in their last 10 attempts in the competition, equalling their worst run since 1994.

Things aren’t looking good for Tottenham on the pitch as their defensive frailties came to the fore once again against Fulham.

And now, it appears as if they are set for a massive boost as one of Tudor’s trusted men has edged closer to joining his coaching staff.

## Ivan Javorcic on the verge of joining Tottenham coaching staff

[Johnny Heitinga left Tottenham after Frank’s sacking](https://readtottenham.com/2026/02/17/dutch-media-make-brutal-john-heitinga-claim-as-he-leaves-tottenham-after-just-33-days/) as Tudor was expected to bring his own coaching staff.

Riccardo Ragnacci (physical coach) and Tomislav Rogic (goalkeeping coach) have already joined the staff, but now, Ivan Javorcic is also set to take his place behind the scenes at N17.

According to [The Telegraph](https://www.telegraph.co.uk/football/2026/03/02/spurs-step-up-hunt-sporting-director-winstanley-freedman/), Tudor is set to be boosted by his compatriot’s imminent arrival, with the pair having worked together first at Lazio and then at Juventus.

No official timeframe has been provided for Javorcic’s arrival, but his work-permit issues are closer to being resolved, so it remains a matter of when, not if.

## Who is Ivan Javorcic?

After serving as the permanent manager for a handful of clubs in Italy’s lower leagues, Javorcic joined forces with Tudor when he took over the reigns at Lazio.

He then followed him to Juventus and although their spells in Turin ended prematurely, the Croatian is seen as being central to Tudor’s philosophy.

Javorcic’s arrival could help shore things up at the back, which could be paramount in preserving their Premier League status.

During his spell with Serie C side Suditrol, they secured promotion to Serie B for the first time in their history and did so by conceding just nine league goals over the course of the entire season, which goes to show just how big an impact he could make at the club.

To be frank, Tottenham will take all the help they can get, and their goal is simple: concede fewer goals, be clinical in attack and get as many points on the board as possible.

And Javorcic’s arrival as Tudor’s ‘secret weapon’ could be exactly what the doctor ordered for Tottenham as they prepare for their upcoming Premier League clash against Crystal Palace.
