# Revealed: The Tottenham player attracting most interest if they suffer Premier League relegation

**The possibility of relegation is looming large for Tottenham Hotspur as they remain winless in the Premier League in 2026.**

[Igor Tudor admitted that the Tottenham job has been harder than expected](https://readtottenham.com/2026/02/26/igor-tudor-makes-startling-confession-about-tottenham-job-after-just-one-game-in-charge/), having lost both his games in charge of the club after succeeding Thomas Frank as the club’s interim manager.

If the improbable prospect of relegation comes true, there could be a fire sale at Tottenham, with David Ornstein confirming via [The Athletic](https://www.nytimes.com/athletic/7080564/2026/03/02/tottenham-relegation-clauses-player-contracts/) that players would have their wages slashed by 50% if they drop down to the Championship.

And now, if reports are to be believed, a handful of clubs across the continent are keeping a watchful eye on Archie Gray’s situation.

## Tottenham could lose Archie Gray to Europe’s elite

Gray was already hailed as one of the brightest English talents during his spell with Leeds United as the biggest clubs in the world fought for his signature.

However, Tottenham won the race for him in the summer of 2024 in a deal seen as a massive coup for the club.

And despite their struggles, Gray has been one of their bright sparks this season, with his versatility, in particular, garnering praise from the footballing fraternity.

[TEAMtalk](https://www.teamtalk.com/tottenham-hotspur/archie-gray-exclusive-bayern-munich-borussia-dortmund-real-madrid-transfer-chase) report that Bundesliga giants Bayern Munich and Borussia Dortmund are keeping a close eye on the England U-21 international’s situation.

Elsewhere, a handful of Premier League clubs – who haven’t been named – and Real Madrid are also credited with interest in Gray, who is tied down at Tottenham until the summer of 2030.

## The state of play for Gray

[Tottenham are the only winless team in the Premier League in 2026](https://readtottenham.com/2026/03/01/two-horrifying-stats-highlight-tottenham-relegation-fears-as-they-reach-32-year-low/) and haven’t secured a league win in their last 10 attempts, which is a clear sign that the prospect of relegation is way more than just a mathematical possibility.

If the unavoidable does happen, most of their big hitters will likely move on. With Gray, however, the situation is more complex.

He’s no stranger to the Championship, having made a name for himself at Elland Road when Leeds were in the second tier.

If Tottenham secure their Premier League status, however, they’ll move mountains to keep Gray, as losing him would be a massive blow to their youth policy.

But with some of the biggest clubs in the world keeping a close eye on him, it remains to be seen if he prefers to be loyal to Spurs and prioritises regular game time over a big move to a club where he’d be a peripheral figure to begin with.
