# “Top performance” – These Spurs fans were delighted with Harry Winks

“Top performance from Harry Winks” – A lot of Tottenham Hotspur fans are heaping praise on Harry Winks after [his display](https://www.football.london/tottenham-hotspur-fc/fixtures-results/tottenham-player-ratings-son-sanchez-16849037) in the North London derby.

Winks has started the [season slowly](https://www.spurs-web.com/tottenham-hotspur-fan-articles/the-four-tottenham-players-who-struggled-against-aston-villa/) and has [looked poor](https://www.spurs-web.com/tottenham-hotspur-fan-articles/the-four-tottenham-players-who-struggled-against-aston-villa/) in all of Spurs’ games up until yesterday – where the 23-year-old performed [very well](https://www.football.london/tottenham-hotspur-fc/fixtures-results/tottenham-player-ratings-son-sanchez-16849037) in the cut and thrust of the North London derby.

Winks was often the man to [relieve pressure](https://www.football.london/tottenham-hotspur-fc/fixtures-results/tottenham-player-ratings-son-sanchez-16849037) for Tottenham and [kept his composure](https://www.football.london/tottenham-hotspur-fc/fixtures-results/tottenham-player-ratings-son-sanchez-16849037) in a challenging game.

Considering Arsenal’s Matteo Guendouzi was [Man of the Match](https://www.express.co.uk/sport/football/1172721/Arsenal-Ian-Wright-Tottenham-Matteo-Guendouzi) Winks did [well to match](https://www.football.london/tottenham-hotspur-fc/fixtures-results/tottenham-player-ratings-son-sanchez-16849037) the Frenchman for most of the game.

Mauricio Pochettino rates the [England international](https://www.football.london/tottenham-hotspur-fc/players/harry-winks-going-play-massive-16400536) and if he can turn in more performances like that then maybe he can develop into a [top-class midfielder](https://totalfootballanalysis.com/player-analysis/harry-winks-tottenham-hotspur-tactical-analysis-statistics).

For now, though, these Spurs fans are just delighted with Winks’ performance.

A lot of Tottenham Hotspur supporters reckon that the 23-year-old was their best player and they want to see more of that in future games.

> Don’t think anybody can deny that! As frustrating as a second half, you never stopped! 100% commitment!! Very proud yid tonight!
